Terms of Use

Effective date: April 23, 2026 Last updated: April 23, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at astburylaw.com (“the website”), operated by Astbury Law, PLLC (“we,” “our,” or “the firm”). By using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. Informational purpose only

The website is for general informational purposes only. The content is not legal advice, does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and the firm, and should not be relied on as a substitute for legal counsel specific to your situation.

Every legal matter is different. Law changes over time, and the content on this website may not reflect the most recent developments. If you have a legal question or matter, you should consult a licensed attorney about your specific circumstances.

2. No attorney-client relationship

Accessing the website, reading its contents, sending an email, filling out a form, or leaving a voicemail does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Astbury Law, PLLC.

An attorney-client relationship is formed only when:

  • We have spoken directly,
  • We have performed a conflict check,
  • We have agreed in writing to represent you, and
  • You have signed a written engagement agreement.

Until all four of those have occurred, no attorney-client relationship exists, and any information you send is not protected by the attorney-client privilege.

3. Confidentiality of communications

Because sending an unsolicited message through the website does not create an attorney-client relationship, the information you send may not be treated as confidential. Please do not send highly confidential or sensitive information through the website. If you need to share sensitive details, a phone call or video meeting after an initial conversation is usually the right first step.

4. Intellectual property

All content on the website — including text, graphics, photographs, logos, page layouts, and organization — is owned by or licensed to Astbury Law, PLLC and is protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may view and print reasonable portions of the website content for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, sell, license, publicly display, or publish any content without our prior written permission
  • Use our logo, name, or branding without our prior written permission
  • Scrape, harvest, data-mine, or otherwise extract content from the website in bulk
  • Frame, mirror, or embed the website within another site without our permission
  • Modify or create derivative works from the content

Fair use for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, or research is permitted to the extent authorized by law.

5. Accuracy of content

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the content on the website is accurate and up to date. However, we make no warranty that the content is accurate, complete, current, or free of error. Laws change, statutes are amended, and court decisions evolve. Content that was accurate when written may no longer be accurate when read.

Do not rely on the website content for decisions in your specific legal matter. Those decisions should be made in consultation with an attorney who knows your facts.

The website may contain links to third-party websites — for example, government agency pages, published court opinions, or EEOC resources. We provide these links for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms of use. Following a third-party link is at your own risk.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The website is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Astbury Law, PLLC disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • Warranties that the website will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components
  • Warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the content

Your use of the website is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Astbury Law, PLLC and its attorneys, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the website — including loss of data, loss of profits, loss of business, or any other intangible losses — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, including in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.

9. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code through the website
  • Interfere with or disrupt the website’s operation or security
  • Attempt to access areas of the website or underlying systems that you are not authorized to access
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, or similar) to access the website without our permission

10. Governing law

These Terms and your use of the website are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the website will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wayne County, Michigan, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the website after any update constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
